Home staging is the process of preparing homes for sale regardless of location
As a home seller, you have control over only two factors:

Once your home goes on the market, it is no longer your home but a house. Staging simply allows you to highlight the best features of your house and appeal to the broadest range of buyers. As an Accredited Staging Professional, staging is one of the components of my marketing plan that I offer to my clients.
The objective of staging is to show buyers how to live in the house (use the dining room as a dining room etc.), de-personalizing, de-cluttering and neutralizing. It is imperative that buyers can see what you are selling, so start packing, clean out the garage and closets, and have a yard sale or call a charitable organization to pick up items you won't be moving to your new home. This will enable buyers to see your square footage, closet space, master suite etc. as well as all the other features that are desirable to potential buyers.
